No, the newborn insert is not sold separately. It is important to note that the insert is not mandatory to use, however it does provide additional support around smaller babies to keep them centered in the product and snugly secured by the harness. Once baby has adequate control to keep themselves upright and centered in the bouncer and are of a size to fill out the space in the bouncer, which is typically around 12lbs/5.5kg, usage of the insert can be discontinued. As children develop differently, it may be suitable to discontinue use before or after this weight as long as baby’s height/length does not exceed the size of the insert.
