To ensure a secure and comfortable fit, position the chest strap using the sliders on the shoulder straps so it rests in the middle of your shoulder blades. The strap should be tight enough to keep the shoulder straps in place, but not so tight that it pulls the straps inward uncomfortably.
Before buckling or unbuckling the chest strap, loosen the shoulder straps. The slack allows you to temporarily pull the straps up and bring the clip higher. Always hold the straps firmly while doing this. Once the chest strap is buckled, tighten the underarm straps to secure the carrier snugly for both you and your baby.
There are a few alternative methods to make reaching the chest clip easier:
Crisscross straps method: Use this when carrying baby in the front position (facing you or out); all adjustments and fastening are done in the front, eliminating the need to reach behind.
T-shirt method: Buckle the clips first while leaving the underarm straps loose. Then, while holding your baby, pull the carrier up over both of you and tighten the straps.
