Choosing which Embrace mode to use depends on your baby’s height, developmental milestones, and readiness to explore the world safely.
Newborns under 23 in./58.4 cm should be carried in Newborn Mode – Facing In, with the waistbelt folded inward twice. This provides a snug, supportive fit for smaller babies.
Once your baby reaches 23 in./58.4 cm and demonstrates strong head and neck control, you can transition to Baby Mode – Facing In, with the waistbelt unfolded and the panel hanging down like an apron. This ensures proper support for the head, neck, back, and thighs.
Front-facing outward carry is suitable once your baby can hold their head up independently and sit with good torso control, and shows curiosity about their surroundings. Look for cues that your baby is engaged but comfortable, and adjust the duration based on how they respond. For more detailed guidance, see our Front Carry – Facing Out: Age & Fit article. (linked)
