Make sure the waistband is very snug. It should not lower on its own once secured. If it dips down in the front, it is not tight enough.
When adjusting the crossed shoulder straps, reach around your back and grab the opposite strap with your free hand. Pull that strap downward before crossing it over to the other side, holding the tension as you go. Pulling down will tighten any slack in the body of the carrier, helping secure your baby safely and comfortably.
