The bottom pillow of the Easy Snug Infant Insert can be removed and used on its own inside the carrier. This setup is designed for babies who:
Are over 12 lbs. (5.5 kg) and older than 4 months;
Have strong and consistent head and neck control, and;
Are either too short to bend comfortably at the knees in the carrier or prefer to sit higher in the carrier.
When using the pillow alone:
Ensure your baby is seated comfortably with thighs supported and spine in a natural position.
Always check that the baby’s face is visible and at kissable height.
Follow all standard safety checks for carriers, including keeping the airway clear and properly securing straps.
The stitched triangle emblem on the pillow should always be pointing upward and facing you, with the baby seated on the wider seat of the pillow. When used with the shell of the Infant Insert, the direction of the triangle is easy to match with the stitched triangle on the shell.
This setup provides added height while maintaining ergonomic support for older babies who no longer need full head and neck support from the insert.
You can use the insert without the pillow if your baby is larger or taller and does not fit within the Easy Snug infant insert with the pillow but still requires head and neck support. Just use the outer shell of the infant insert to ensure baby's neck is properly supported. Baby should be properly seated in the carrier in an ergonomic M-shape position.
